Well here was a new venue; so new indeed that the hares were not sure whether it was in Graffam or Heyshott. Webmaster in his dotage got the wrong Map Reference on the web!
Gaban House was a very snazzy rural business type place where a young Barclay worked so thank are due for the use of their good offices.
Sue greeted the paltry number of turn_up_ees and swiftly handed over to the hares who said it might be steep. It was indeed! We scaled Heyshott Down beating the pheasants all the way up to the South Downs Way and on up and over.
The hardy did a long loop beyond which took us to regroup at a trig point where we studied the lands to the north and mused about the tribes that lived there.
The hares suggested we carried on to a vertical drop down the scarp slope where we would die or take a long route back.
We chose the latter.
The hashit was awarded to James for somehow taking an extra 10' to get back from the last check.
Many thanks to the hares for a fine hash and for organising perfect weather. Those that missed it missed out.
We retired to the Unicorn where we met Nicholas and Evrim who were tucking into their Sunday roast, they having been unable to find the start. We are very sorry, it won't happen again.
