The car park was well signposted and the pack gathered on time at Iping Common in time to hear the Ref giving dire warnings of Clay Pigeon shooters and adders. (Avoid both). Mr Bean was handing out pics of the last hash and so before he got the slides out the hares told us to cross the road and find that trail! Groucho had been awarded his new hashname but did not wear the items he won last time. So the pack found the first two checks easily enough but then found a check which did not seem to go anywhere and had a backcheck that went two checks behind. Is that legal? We doubled back and then across the heather towards another check that led to a falsie. As we came back from the falsie the pack had gathered around The Ref who said his Achilles had gone. There was nothing for it but to be helped back to the chariots by The Panda and Resta the Rasta. Was this the girls taking the easy option or just being kind and considerate? As they are hashers we can forget kind and considerate. Was the Ref in need of two ladies to help him or was he genuinely in need of help? Again as he is a hasher let us think the worst and suggest that being escorted by two ladies is better than struggling around the rest of the course!!! Well done Ref - a true hasher.
So Old Faithful led us around the shooters and we found a host of trails to choose from.
