Run 5738 January 2006The Hangover Hash - afterwards at Dowdell HouseBedhampton Glebe Park Ave (bottom) SU695061

Although twenty odd (and I do mean odd) bodies turned up in the pouring rain, it was proabably the smallest Hangover Hash for many years.
At first it looked like a big gathering with many cars but it turned out that they were penshioners awaiting a coach day trip. We did think of hijacking them under the guise of being the mystery trip of the day but decided against it as we already have enough terminally confused in the pack.
The JMs gatrhered us together and then handed over to the hares who kindly jogged us along and helped us across the road. (When we get all grown up we will attempt this ourselves). Instantly we got the tone of the run - a sneaky little back check and then over the motorway and into the harbour area.
We were told that the area we were running on used to be the town rubbish dump but that it had now been covered over so it was now fit for hashers to run on.
We came across open fields without any cover from the elements and seemed to be heading in a large anti clockwise loop. The pack moved alomg briskly due to the fact that it was cold and they wanted to get back for the food and drink (all except Buster who was dragged along by Vladimir - Buster has reprted him to the RSPCA).
We covered the areas along the seafront but for once the pack was kept together and a regroup was never even mentioned.
We emerged near the motorway and Bambi led the way over with the pack following along behind.
Across the footbal field and then onto the road which led up to the Dowdell Estate and Hash Flash went for the cruel option of Bedhampton Hill.
However the hares had been kind and truned us through the housing estate and then back to the chariots without any further ado where we all rushed back for the hospitality provided by Old Faithful and Resta the Rasta.
The pack cleaned off the mud and rushed for the festivities.

The JMs gave their last speech and then awarded the hashit to Whispers for having to remove his running goggles due tt the rain.
Bambi was then awarded hasher of the year for ‘loyalty, regularity and being a general all round goo egg’. The new JMs were then introduced - the Ref and the Sweaty Butterfly!
The offered their thanks to the previous JMs and then got on with that most important duty - the annual Hangoverf hash raffle.
Prizes were awarded and tghen back to the spread laid out by Resta (which incidentally ws first rate and appreciated by one and all.
So another hash year begins. lets all try and add some new members and have another good years hashing.
