A sunny warm morning was perfect for a moderate turnout to fuss around finding parking spaces amongst the streets surrounding the Berkley Arms, or in the case of Francis andDr Blood to find something solid to which to attach their bicycles.
The resident, who was washing his BMW, listened as intently as any hasher as the hares gave us the same old tosh at the bottom of his drive.
Given no help from the start the pack spread out in all directions then condensed on Delling Lane and found the trail around the school and out on to Walton Lane and then along Chequer Lane.
So despite the sunshine it looked like this was going to be a "Laney" day after all.

From here we headed south and into pasture for the first (and last) time, and reached a check where it was either East to Fishbourne or West back to Bosham.
I was a late arrival at this point; to the East I could see Cheshire relieving himself against the hedge and to the West the pack disapearing into the distance, a natural reaction when faced with such a shocking sight I thought, but No! the pack was turning round and coming back to take a good look, No, wrong again the pack was lost and our Harette had to turn us all to the West again and back out on Walton Lane, where the trail had been cunningly relaid.
At this point we held an impromptu board of inquiry to determine the cause of the confusion and it was only the lack of suitable trees that prevented Old Faithful from being strung up.

From there we headed down, wait for it !, Taylor's Lane, through the residential area and out at the West end of Stump's Lane, on to the shoreline and then up Bosham Lane.

Finaly a loop North up the coastal path and East through the houses saw us back at the pub just on the hour.

By now the BMW had been polished and was gleaming in the sunshine.

Having been served with the necessary liquids by the very friendly bar staff and having thanked the Hares for an imaginative trail the nominations were reviewed;
The Panda and Flash for posing for pictures next to posh boats at the harbour,
The Ref and Godiva for failing to notice the on-in,
with the Hash-it going to Old Faithful for causing the previously mentioned confusion.
On-On Bambi.
