Once again we return to Eartham woods where the brave hares had laid yet another
trail on land which by now would be knee deep in flour if it had not washed away.
There was a big post natal welcome back for for Godiva and newbie Lisa as Mussolini
and then Tigger turned up just in time get a load of what the hares had to say,
which was not much.
So off we went taking the south easterly path towards Wood Cottage and soon running
into trouble at about the third check where we couldn't find a way out.
A bit of head nodding from The Chamois was needed to get us out on what was an obvious
trail that no one had bothered to check.
From there we were treated to a long slog north up the hill towards Stane Street with a
check half way up which turned into an impromptu regroup with arrival order Pancsi,
Flamingo, Mussolini, Dr Blood, Old Faithful, Sinbad, Sarah ... Again no way out found
... until Mussolini decided to retry the trail that Heather had already given up on and lo!
found flour heading north and on to Stane Street.
The hares had wanted to lure us all to the seat under the trees at the big six way junction
but their best laid plans were foiled by OF who found the true trail to North Wood about
fifty metres before the back check at the seat and the pack followed him rather than make
the extra climb.
From North Wood I rather lost track of exactly where we went except to note that it was all
entirely up hill and that after the hour had passed Splasher started to moan about needing
a beer urgently.
Eventually we arrived at the on-in after about one and a half hours to be greeted by an irate
Bika who had been held up on-route by a cycle race.
We don't mark our checks to show the true trail after passing through, so Bika couldn't
catch us ... not a happy hound.
After a round of applause for the hares, nominations were heard which included the late arrivals,
however the hash-It was awarded to Splasher for the persistent moaning.
Libations were taken as usual at The George.
Bambi.
