Bambi has uploaded a movie to my cloud that will be available for a couple of weeks -see:
... The movie ...

There was a cool cool breeze from the south west that made standing in the shade a chilly experience, whereas a moment or two in the strong sunshine soon felt like a windy sauna, not quite perfect.

The view however was perfect, a broad vista from Chichester Harbour to Littlehampton with Halnaker mill sitting on it's little bluff in the foreground.

Thumper gave us a bit of old news and the hares gave us no new news before a seemingly reluctant pack made it's way north into the deep green cover of the woods.

Immediately the West and East options proved false leaving a narrow winding trail north then East that passed through several potential check point junctions without letup before emerging into the brightness of one of the wide South/North paths.

Splasher to the East and Pancsi, Bogeyman and Flash to the North all found false, the rest headed South towards Selhurstpark Road. East then parallel to the road, with Dag getting a good dose of bramble as she checked North.

Soon we reached the Eastern end of the park, Benge's Wood, with a check on the edge of the now disused car park. Here Pancsi and Splasher took everyone along a most attractive little track in the undergrowth that just went round in a big anti-clockwise loop back to the check, with much giggling from the hares.

Now we headed North and down. A back check to the West left Dr Blood and Pink Flamingo at the bottom of the gully while the rest of us flummoxed on the ridge, until Roaming Pussy found the way around a falsie by taking a detour through the bramnettles to the East. So excited was she that she attempted a handstand using one finger to support her body and ended up sitting down for a rest and almost a little cry.

A charge down towards Droke Hanger followed, however the fiendish hares had laid two fish hooks in close proximity, the first caught Dag, Pancsi, Bambi, Sinbad, Dogwhistle and Panda and the second caught Bogyman, Pink Flamingo, Flash and Splasher.

This left us all together again in that open hollow with the chest high grass on the East of Droke Hanger with loads of falsies to check. The hardest way out of here is the climb up Selhurstpark Hill, so yes, that's the way we found, with most barely able to walk up except those who put on a show for the camera.

We spent a bit of time looking for Dock Leaves to rub on Bogeyman's legs at a check near the top before those of us with too much knowledge of the area assumed that we must now head South towards the chariots. But NO!, all attempts to head that way turned out to be false, leaving us on the trail towards the downward plunge to Droke with an hour already under our belts.

Thankfully a check just on the edge of the ridge, followed by another woodland scramble, scratch and sting session heading South at last, meant that we were soon following Dag to the On-In with that lovely cool breeze perking up the nipples under the sweaty T-shirts.

At the circle, we thanked the hares in the usual way, and heard about Panda loosing a diamond earring, looked on as Roaming Pussy showed us her finger and awarded the Hash-It to Dr Blood for mislaying his parents.

Apres Hash was at The George.

On On! Bambi.
