A small pack managed to make it to the campsite in SLDB on a lovely warm dry sunny morning with little or no hangovers evident from the previous night's dining at local expat Leslie's gaff.
The JMs started the proceedings but couldn't remember the run number, so they mumbled something and handed over to the hares who didn't bother with the usual lies since the ground was bone dry and there was no way to go but steeply up.
Following a short walk up into the village the pack found the trail west and on-up into the welcoming shade of the trees.

After a few easy checks on the slope up through le Champ des Pas a five way check at the top of the climb kept the leaders busy long enough for the pack to regroup before the trail out towards Anc. ardoisière which went through a small group of ravers who were still too drunk to have a hangover.
Dr Blood and Mr Pastry were the first to reach the next check but they totally missed the sneaky little trail back east and down down into the Vallée de Misère (Valley of the poor) and were thus last to arrive at the photo opportunity in the old roman slate quarry.

Now a dilemma, the trail split, one path for the "Turkeys" heading gently up out of the valley and one for the "Eagles" heading down further into the valley.
Soon the Eagles were getting their feet wet in the stream before arriving at a check beneath an extremely steep scree slope.
Pink Flamingo was brave enough to check up, while the rest took the easier options.
She was rewarded by finding true trail and leading the pack up an exhausting climb to rejoin the Turkeys who were voicing sentiments to the rest along the lines of "cant keep up with a girly ?".

The rest of the trail consisted of a series of easy checks that took the pack along the edge of the animal park with magnificent views of the Sarthe and SLDB to the right and unusual goats and llamas to the left.
Most of the pack entered in to the "how many echoes can I generate" competition at the echo point, I think I won, getting three replies.

Soon we reached the on-in after one hour and twenty minutes.
Many could have been nominated, one of the JMs for impersonating a turkey for example, however Mr Pastry received the hash-It but what for? I can't recall.
We then enjoyed a light lunch in the shade of a large tree and watched the buzzards circling lazily in the afternoon thermals.

Bambi.
