Oh!, not Stansted yet again, is this an April Fool's joke?, no, and just as muddy and wet as run 888.

Being Easter Sunday many of the regulars were probably scoffing their preprandial Easter Eggs and lining up the viewing list for an afternoon on the couch. Meanwhile the rest of us were trying to wedge our chariots into the small car park and looking forward to words of wisdom from our JMs. Success was achieved with the former of these endeavours, however as usual the hope of the latter was dashed as soon as Prancer opened his mouth.

A round of "True or False" followed by a few weak jokes supplied by Splasher preceded the interesting news that some of the Falsies were endowed with a little ribbon that might be worth collection.

Through the little Kissing Gate and we were soon on our slithering way into the trees to the West testing our inner ear balance capabilities.

South at the first Check and Pocket Rocket is disappointed to find the true trail, meaning he can't pick up a ribbon, yet.

Then East to the nearby sound of a woodpecker bashing its brain and eye-balls out rather than chirp a pretty song.

We then continued South towards The Avenue and back into the deja-vu of 888 by turning West with Kinky doing a lot more horn blowing than usual, spring must be on the way.

Bambi claimed his one and only ribbon on this leg, just managing to get to the Falsie before Pocket Rocket who was definitely on a mission and already clutching a small handful.

To turn North was inevitable, and when we did it was in a big way, taking us all the way to Warren Down via a multitude of Checks and a Regroup with "say cheese" snap as we crossed the long Ride.

Bika had guessed most of this correctly and was way out in front until a crafty check in one of the old quarry pits in this area caught us all.

We were wandering around under the ancient yews just south of Staunton Way when we found a Ladies Check. Somewhat predictably the pack descended into a maelstrom of sexist innuendo, with Prancer's old chestnut of "that is no lady that is my wife" and other unprintable remarks.

While all this was going on, few had noticed that Spider Woman had already found the On trail to the South and was well on the way on a long slog back towards the Chariots.

The pack charged after her, overtook her and then ran straight into a Fish Hook that caught Kinky, Bika, Bambi and Flash. Shortly almost at the stroke of Noon we reached the On-In after one hour and fiftynine minutes of frenetic ribbon hunting.

Two Ferrets Fighting was waiting to greet us, she is under the doctor with a bout of sciatica.

At the circle there was a big thank you to the Hares for a finding yet another perfectly timed trail in this area. Both Pocket Rocket and Flash were censured for barging our JM out of picking up a ribbon, the Hash-It being presented to Flash because Pocket Rocket had managed to bribe the other JM with one of his ribbons.

What do ribbons mean? yes ribbons means chocolate eggs, kindly provided by the Hares and rapidly distributed to the worthy.

Some retired to The Fox and Hounds in Funtington to sample the Easter Sunday atmosphere.

On – On ! Bambi.
