Cheesy Chips and Caroline (no, the other one) had helped Vixen with this run, but were not present just in case we all got lost and blamed them.

The morning can only be described as nondescript, nothing of anything, like a gearbox in neutral, a becalmed yacht before a breeze, a freewheeling bicycle before a hill, a Hasher's brainwaves before alcohol.

In the car park Vixen had sprayed flour everywhere, there was a comprehensive guide to all the marks, some accidental spillage, and a big "THIS IS FLOUR", to allay the worries of non hashers. We managed to find a space that was not dusty white for a brief briefing, no visitors or newbies, and a welcome back to Pocket Rocket who is almost unrecognizable from the much shorter and timid previous version.

Bika and Woo Woo said that they were going to pay attention to where we were about to go because they hoped to use the same trail on the morrow for run 645 of PADHHH, however a small wrinkle in their plan arrived at the discovery that this car park closes an hour and a half before their Hash starts. You really must try a night Hash, with a head torch, in a forest, where no one will hear you scream, at least once in your life. Come to think of it, it might be the last thing you do in your life.

We, on the other hand, set out on a shadowless morning, heading West at first, on The Avenue, then North, all except Woo Woo who continued West to the vanishing point, apparently on his own private Hash.

The northerly progress continued in a series of, left, straight, right, straight, right, straight, left again, choices that the grid pattern of the many paths in this forest allows. Following a little confusion caused by flour sabotage, (evidently not everyone had read Vixen's post in the car park), we arrived at the southern log bench for a regroup.

Still no sign of Woo Woo apart from reports of hearing someone howling in the direction of Rowland's Castle. A short natter here, someone pointed out that Bika was wearing new shoes, and Snake Charmer found a dreaded tic on Belle.

It was North West into the area populated by many yews next, and Woo Woo appeared stage left, to lead us in a quirky piece of trail that involved a circle around a particularly fine yew, as if the hares wanted us to engage is a mystic visit to an entrance into the under world. One wonders how this would play out in darkness, with a ring of head torches, maybe a spirit might rise to pay a visit, they don't plant yew trees in church yards for no reason, do they?.

This marked the northern most part of the run, we turned South and reached a fish hook that caught Woo Woo, Pocket Rocket, Snake Charmer, Bambi, Olive Oyl, and Dr Blood, followed by the now expected right, left, left, right choices.

A late fish hook was poorly observed as we reached the On-In after one hour and eleven minutes of matrix path hashing.

At the circle, we thanked the remaining Hare, and noted that Woo Woo had been on a parallel Hash, we gave the Hash-It to Snake charmer for two reasons, fish hook avoidance and criticism of our JMs joke, you know the one where he starts of by asking "does your dog bite?".

Some of the pack then retired to The Cricketers Inn, whatever transpired there, remains a mystery to this reporter who did not attend that august establishment.
